The Aldon Sack record watch

Aldon is at 19.5, so he needs a sack in each of his last 3 games to tie Strahan for the single season record for sacks.

If he gets 2 more sacks, does the NFL allow Brett Favre to come out for 1 play to take a dive & let him get one more?

Interesting match-ups coming up. Brady and Wilson will be tough to sack, but Aldon Smith always plays his best in prime-time, and both games are that. He should be able to get at least one against the Cardinals.

I think the Cardinals is his money game. We should be up early so they should be throwing quite a bit. As Clyde said, Aldon plays well in prime time so i expect him to get at least one sack per game in the next two.

It would suck if he came up just short like he did last year with the rookie record.

The single-season sacks record is going to be awesome... if his agent decides to take nothing less than being the highest paid defender, thats going to suck, I believe Aldon already has a $100 million contract coming his way, now the only question is how much over 100.

They can't holdout or try to renegotiate until their 4th year, right?

Well, the market always fluctuates... that is true. I was just looking at how Mario got $100 mil from Buffalo, and over his 1st 3 years he had 30.5 sacks. Aldon isn't even finished with his 2nd year and he is at 33.5. At this rate, and with a long history of sack masters being the highest paid defenders.. its not hard to imagine Aldon having the same type of market value.

2007- Freeney signed a 6 year $72 mil contract, one of the highest paid players
2009- Ware signed a $79 mil extension (forgot him earlier)
2010- Peppers signed his $90 mil deal (potentially worth $110)
2012- Williams signed his $100 mil deal

Its going up, and Aldon is at such a sack pace that he will probably have the leverage to get maybe around $110 mil, or more.

BTW, that assclown Snyder is to blame for this... that big jump from Freeney to Peppers is credited to matching the Haynesworth deal. Snyder is an ass.

Agree, that is why I'm kind of hesitant to give him that much money. Maybe something similar to what Ware got, I believe it was like 75 mil but that was an extension.

Can't say I've paid much attention since the first half or so, I was expecting the Bills to step up some and they just tanked.

I hope Aldon gets it for that reason alone. Strahan's record is BS and I never did care for Favre, or for any N.Y. team for that matter.

That would be a start. A joke would be getting 80 sacks.

By the way, I got 212 sacks in a single season of 2004 Madden with Andre Carter.
