I'm afraid you may be right. I think he's an excellent coach, but a coach must be 100% dedicated to the job and I'm not sure his heart is in it.

I think he "likes" the money and the adulation. But, he probably can't stay long enough to get back the 100 games the NCAA took away from him for cheating.

While the conference early exits leaves a lot to be desired, I'm still very happy for VT making it back into the tournament and playing Wisconsin tough. I'd like for them to have played a little better, but oh well.

Buzz has done a great job in his three years at VT and increasing win totals each year. Recruiting is getting better because of it as well. We'll never compete year in, year out, for the ACC title, but hopefully stay in the top half with a chance to make a run in the ACC tourney and the occasional Sweet 16 in the future.

Now we just have to make sure we hold on to Buzz!

Woah. That was quick. Thought he would have checked out the process first, before making a decision. Did he do that last year?

It's tough to get one and done guys to learn the system and then totally buy in. Especially when their more interested in their draft stock and say F it, we'll just outscore everyone

What's Boeheim's relationship with the AD like? Wonder if they are dealing with an AD gone rogue, who didn't want Hopkins to be his next head basketball coach. After Hopkins' exit, Syracuse had no choice but to extend Boeheim's deal. Boeheim's contract expiring in 2018 was only okay, because you had a successor in place. No successor means you have to extend that deal, so it makes recruits comfortable.

Or maybe Boeheim wants to coach until he dies. Who knows

I'm really curious to see what UNC does when Roy retires. When Dean Smith retired, they went into total retard mode with the thought that the UNC Basketball head coach had to be a member of the UNC family. That's how they ended up with Matt Doherty.

I agree. But, I also think Duke has to get on board--they have no choice.

I'm not dougie but imo Giles NEEDS to stay... He did nothing to improve his stock and it him getting on a team will solely based on name and preconceived hype of him. He's gone though imo

Yeah I agree. It's actually been dropping fast. I check out the NBA mock drafts every two weeks or so and I'll say that about a month ago he was projected to get drafted in the top 15. Now he is now to 25th in the most recent mock.

He doesn't play defense... (well no on in the NBA does) or he really has to be "motivated" to play D. It seems to me (yes I know he is very young) but if something doesn't go his way he "cries" and slacks off. At least that is my impression on him. Sure he does have the talent, just needs to show it all the time.

Yeah he needs to stay. He will have his chance to prove he is legit.

That he will. I just think all the pre-season hype for him will push him to the NBA because we know his buddy Tatum is going

He's gone. I don't believe he risks another injury. That's just my take. I hope Kennard stays, but there's a player that probably goes as well.
