Some new guy JC transfer I never saw on FSU's roster before just dropped 27 last night in FSU's 98-49 drubbing of So. Miss.

FSU has only one loss so far, and that was a game they led by 15 early in the 2nd half. We got the Gators Sunday. Hopefully Isaac and Cofer are available.

Va. Tech will be an interesting case come Selection Sunday. I think they will need to at least get to 10 wins in ACC play to be sitting comfortable for being an at-large bid and even that MIGHT not be enough if they were to lose their first game in the ACCT. Va. Tech is going to end up with one of the worst OOC schedules in the country, which will kill their resume. I honestly think this Ole Miss game this weekend is a must win. Having 2 losses with their OOC SOS is going to kill their chances.

With that said, I think they will definitely be a better team than what their RPI will indicate at the end of the year.

We have a wins over New Mexico, Nebraska, and Michigan all away from home. I like are chances against Ole Miss at home, too.

I think .500 in the ACC should get us in the tournament. We went 10-8 last year and have a better team this year. If we can match 10-8, and we're looking at a 23-25 win season, we'll be fine.

Michigan has the potential to be a very good win, that could look pretty in March. We'll see. Long way to go until then.

Nebraska and New Mexico are decent wins, but they aren't wins that are going to make a resume pop out in March. I don't think either of those schools are going to be up for an at-large bid in March. Nebraska is #83 in kenpom, while New Mexico is #107.

Ole Miss is in the same category. I think VT takes care of them pretty easily.

With that said, long way to go until March. All three of the schools have the potential to trend up or down.

Virginia Tech's schedule so far has been ranked #208 by CBS' Jerry Palm. With that poor OOC schedule, I don't see VT going dancing with a 9-9 ACC record. Could be wrong, because the ACC is pretty deep this year. VT playing BC this year twice could be the deciding factor in that. Two automatic wins, but BC is probably going to be a sub-200 team this year.

FWIW, I think VT wins more than 9 ACC games this year and goes dancing.

lol Manning's substitution patterns against mid-major opponents are awful.

Going to be hilarious when Collins doesn't make 1st or 2nd team All-ACC, because his team may not be very good.

Also, BC just lost to a terrible Hartford team. Hartford is a sub 300 team on kenpom.

Nd trying their slowdown offense. It's awful without Jackson or grant running it

Good game Irish.

As usual, I love the Notre Dame players. Smart, good shooters. Love Vasturia.

Farrell was nuts. Very underrecruited player. He's better than Divencenzo.

State's been having quite a few competitive games against mid and low-majors this year. They are down by 8 to Tennessee with about 15:00 left in the 2nd half.

Still don't have Yurtseven.

FSU beats #21 UF and improves to 10-1. I think this is the best team we've had since the Sura/Ward/Cassell days.

The 2011-2012 team that won the ACC Tournament was a really good team. Got upset in the 2nd round of the NCAAT but still doesn't diminish what they accomplished that season. That was a very good FSU team, not old enough to remember the Sura/Ward/Cassell teams.

I remember that team. Charlie Ward was a great basketball player and played in the NBA. Oh, and he also got drafted in the MLB draft, and... won the Heisman Trophy BTW.

I'm not old enough to remember the early 90's either, but they went to the Elite 8 and had good NBA players on it - so I use them as the baseline.

That 11'-12' team was mostly seniors and juniors. While good, they weren't nearly as talented as this group.
