He's been described as a Chris Bosh type player. He would fill in excellent at the 4 spot which means we can let Pau go and use the money to find a SF on the free agent market.

Wouldn't mind seeing them grab Luol Deng to play SF.

C - Hill
PF - Kelly
SF - Deng
SG - Kobe
PG - Farmar

Not winning titles with that roster, but it would be solid and would show FA's in 2015 and 2016 that the Lakers are moving in the right direction.

Let's not forget our draft pick. Which could mean we have

C - Hill
PF - Vonleh, Gordon or Randle
SF - Deng
SG - Kobe
PG - Farmar

With Swaggy P leading the bench.

That could be a pretty good team.

Vonleh reminds me a little of Moses Malone. Big strong body with a wingspan. I am also curious as to whom Mitch has in mind in the second round. I don't know about Deng. getting a little long in the tooth.

Stay with the young guys and build your own stars. Guys like Love weren't always stars. They started as rooks and worked they way into that position along with some talent. We can do the same. Keep the picks and build. Sign many of the guys we have and add some FAs and undrafted talent. After the NAsh and Howard debacles, haven't we learned anything?

I agree Shagdaddy. Don't forget Henry, Bazemore, Marshall, and Kelly.

We don't have a 2nd round pick Retro. That went to Phoenix (for Nash) who then traded that pick to Milwaukee

Thanks for the update Shaqdaddy. Then our options get even more limited. They should take a page from the Raiders or the Redskins. ALways trading away draft picks in hopes of landing that big star can really limit a club long-term. The Raiders nor the Redskins haven't been near the playoffs in a decade or more.

Seriously?!? All season long, folks were on here bitching about D'Antoni and all of the losing and now he "won too much"?!?:laugh3:

Not me, I wanted to tank even before the season even started. But people on here kept insisting that the Lakers were contenders and that D'Antoni was a real coach.

After the 3rd game this season.

Sorry, but I am glad they lost. This team is rebuilding as they should and they need to pull a Spurs and tank to get Wiggins just like Spurs did to get Duncan. Keeping the Robinson out all but 9 games on an injury that was only supposed to last just over a month made the Spurs a championship contender for 15 years. Lakers need to follow suit. Kobe needs to rest this year and the Lakers need to get Wiggins.

I will be routing for the Lakers to lose every game but against the Clippers and Heat. Even though while watching games I will be routing for them to win cause I cant help myself even when I know tanking is better for them.

Personally I'm voting for trade the pick. In my opinion there's a big drop off after the predicted top 5. This free agency and draft is tough because let's not forget the Suns have lakers 1st rounder for next year

Trading the pick is still a possibility. But people can't forget how stacked this draft is.

I'm hoping they keep the pick. Especially when we can get a good power forward in return.

And I like wlk's suggestion. Sign Ariza. He was once a Laker that got a ring and he is still an effective player who is not that old. Plays great D as well.

I like this Vonleh kid. Still very young. Good size, length, and strength. Nice looking stroke on the jumpshot. Can post up. Cap could really help him out with his footwork. Boxes out. He would be a good choice.

Any chance of trading for Love just went out the window. The Lakers needed to break into the top 3 to have any sort of worthy asset to trade for Love. 7th pick won't do it. I would use the pick and see what's there in 2015. Love could still make to free agency.

What I wouldn't do is blow the cap room on Deng or Melo this summer. Deng has a lot of mileage on his body. He's been tops in MPG the last few seasons. He's going to cost too much as well. Same with Melo. It's Lebron or hold onto the cap space for the 2015 free agents.

That's what I was thinking too. It would be like working with a blank canvas who's prime wouldn't even be for another 8 years.

Well stated Lakersrule and I agree this is exactly what the Lakers should do. They should hire you as a special consultant to short buss. BTW. I like the Vonleh kid as well.

He's already pretty effective with the left and right hook. Not a traditional sky hook like Caps, but a hook shot none-the-less. He has good length, so it's practically an unblockable shot. He just needs polishing like the video indicated.

I agree. You wouldn't have to pay me much Jimmy

Oh, and did everyone get a good look at the Buck's owner's daughter? That was the best thing about the show!

LOL! I saw that Lakersule. I suppose she made quite an impression. Probably obtain gainful employment with that audition/performance. I know. You'd save short buss so much cash and the upside would be obvious-championship #17 and Kobe's 6th ring. You should send in your resume and if you need a reference, tell 'em I endorse you as special consultant. I do have three advanced degrees so I am sure I am a credible reference.
