I'm enjoying how dumb you guys are as a group. Bunch of pretend basketball guys who are really just nba knobslobbers. Even as the product gets shittier and shittier.
just wow. Seriously, just say you were messing with us. If so, ya got me as you had me believing you were truly this irrational and mathematically challenged.

They need to stop the draft lottery and just go back to worst picks first and then go in order based on record. The in season tournament, while fun, is pointless and should be dropped.

I like the play in tournament because it keeps fans of more teams engaged. So, I'd keep that.
I agree with the play-in. That has been a great addition. Also the in-season tournament, just a pointless nothing burger.

The lottery, in theory, can keep teams from tanking. But with the play-in only 5 teams from each conference aren't in the post-season and does anyone believe the bottom 5 aren't tanking regardless?

The threat of the drive creates the wide open mid-range jumper. The exact way the game should be played.

Thank you for finally getting it. That took a number of pages to teach you guys this game.

Yep.

And shooting percentage on those wide open midrange jumpers is only slightly higher than percentage for 3 pointers, which is worth 50% more points.

So mathematically, it is a bad shot for most players.

I think in his most recent kooky comment he was speaking specifically of MJs pushoff midrange shot...not midrange in general.

I don’t think so.

His entire schtick is about players shooting too many 3s and not enough midrange.
Thought this was where someone said his hero fouled (which he did) and he tried to make excuses for it.

Never thought I'd see it, but this guy just agreed that the 3-point line ruined the game. @The Q

Problem with the lottery is that, as you point out, the theory doesn't really fit with the results. There's a point in the season where the bottom 5 are just going to tank because they are unlikely to make the play-in and want to go after the best pick they can get.

I think that teams that get into the play-in also do some tanking until they reach a point where they realize they can't get into the bottom 5 and decide to try to get a home game in the play in.

So, it may curb some tanking, but not enough to keep the lottery, imo.
