People only thought it was a bad trade for 2 reasons.

1) the age difference between Luka and AD.

2) the lack of draft picks they were able to get

If they got 2 future draft picks in it then I think most are ok with it. We would still think Nico is a clown for trading Luka who is a top 5 player in his mid 20s but AD and multiple first is a better return than what they got

And both 1 and 2 are real but my point is in the immediate term Dallas may have even improved slightly. Lakers obviously "won" the trade but Dallas fans have a good team here
