Hayes has improved to the point where the Lakers don't need to set the team back going forward trading away assets to chase down Kessler from Utah.Starting to think the Lakers may be just fine with Jaxson Hayes at center.
He could use a little more weight, but he seems to have settled into a good role where he plays some defense, grabs some boards and gets lobs from Luka, Lebron and Reaves when he runs the floor.
Hayes is playing way better, he is playing some good Defense, he is scoring quite well down low with Doncic and Reaves (and James when he is in there) making really good passes to him, and he is finishing plays. He scored 19 points today against the Suns and that is not an anomaly. He does have some trouble with bigger heavier Centers but he is getting bigger, slowly.
Working with Hachimura, DFS, Vanderbilt, Jemison, and Kokolo, Hayes and the Lakers have a viable and a continually improving 4/5 positions that they don't have to make another trade to be good in the post-season.
