Tough at the top no doubt.

But if we are comparing?

I think potential 1st round opponents for 1 and 2 seeds out west are potentially just as dangerous as potential second round matchups for the 1 seed in the East.

Now, OKC does not have a challenger on their level (yet) as it seems Cleveland and Boston do because they have each other.
Will say as a whole, things have changed in conferences since earlier in season (doesn't necessarily mean much for this discussion...just an observation). West was dominating the East in H2H. East has closed the gap a ton.

60 mil a year for a 36 year old butler who doesn’t care about the regular season is wild

Yeah.

And adding another 60 million on 37 year old Durant.

Less wild

But realistically, what option does Phoenix have? They can’t blow it up because they lost all their picks

I guess door #3 is trade Durant, keep booker and trade the picks you have with beal expiring contract next summer and get your second star to pair with book and try again

I mean, they could always.... not spend $120m a year on two fairly injury-prone 36/37 year olds

Plus, and I haven't done the math on this yet, wouldn't it mean the only way Phoenix could even get Jimmy would be to send Beal over to Miami?

Hard to tell now in the west. Some teams that have a lot of injuries and Jimmy is looming...guessing Miami is not sending him to any team in the east and as of right now, he only wants one team in the west.

I mean DBook, KD and Butler is the best big 3 in the NBA as far as a talent level...not taking fit into the equation. They don't have good depth but $60M a year is insane.

Yeah I mean Beal is not getting them anywhere..they have failed to this point. Go big or go home basically

2 of the 3 are past their primes and the other is a Beta at best. Actually more than one of them are Betas. Is Jimmy still an Alpha? I don’t think so.
