How many people are on the refs are ass train with myself and Shane? I think we are up to 6-8 lol

I try to keep it quiet as i can except with college lol. I get a favorable whistle for stars but it gets ridiculous to the point you can't guard them.

Last Sunday in that Nuggets game, SGA hit a hesitation dribble that broke a defenders ankles and the announcers went wild. Except it wasn't a hesi. He came to a dead stop, hand his palm and wrist under the ball, carried it, and started moving again. No way the defender could do anything because its an illegal move. But shit like that happens all the time now. And that's exactly what Steve Kerr was ranting about a couple of weeks ago. There are egregious carries, travels, 3 seconds, 5 seconds, and foul calls that just don't even get called.

If they called carrying the ball they would have to shut down the league.

See though…

Advocating for change is a good thing. Let’s make the product better.

Saying NBA refs are bad at their job is incredibly ignorant. And you guys have done that many, many times (not here).

There is not a single level of basketball where people will tell you that officiating is actually good.

Sometimes games are officiated well. But there will always be games that aren’t officiated well.

Because there is an unbelievable amount of judgment that goes into every single trip down the court. The more opportunities you give humans to make mistakes, the more mistakes will occur.

So until the league finds a way to completely change the system and take all these real time decisions away from human official…

The best officials in the world (which NBA officials are) will continue to make mistakes. Lots of them.

Poole is turning into a pretty good player

He’s really not.

Same guy he has been. Takes horrible shots all game long. Sometimes they go in because he is an incredibly skilled shooter. One of the very best in the league.

But he is still an awful defender and a stat producer on a bad team.

If he would accept a role like the one he had for the dubs when he broke out, he could be really valuable.

But I don’t think he will. And I don’t think teams are going to be willing to give up anything to trade for him

It would be very interesting to see the leagues directives to the officials I think.

The carrying and traveling stuff doesn’t bother me.

But that is clearly a directive. Especially the palming. As long as it is legislated consistently I don’t take issue with it.

People getting upset about officials not calling travel on a player who picks up the dribble early and takes an extra half step on a break away dunk is wild to me.

Fans want to see the highlight dunk. They don’t want to see an official running in waiving it off.

Agree on traveling, JBs gripe had to do with 2 reviews that could have easily been addressed especially in the game prior where they reviewed a play and determined Cade arms getting slapped was not only not a foul but that the ball went out off him. Then in the next game he gets ejected discussing fouls? A dude who has been ejected one time ever?

Maybe start giving HIM the treatment he deserves.

That’s been the league for a long time. Especially palming, they did the same thing back in the 80’s and 90’s. It’s just nobody paid attention bc they got away with more.

The main concern is the overall officiating seems down. There are some truly bad refs in the league right now, not saying a lot. More like just a couple. Too many games I have watched where the bad officiating takes over a game and controls the pace. It would be ok if it happened rarely but that isn’t the same. It is WAY too often. We are not talking about a couple missed calls…we are talking about games that are controlled for 3 quarters. There is less consistency than I have ever witnessed in the game. They can’t let it get out of hand like cball

This is the kind of crap we'd get if we allowed basketball to be absurdly physical

Which Scal (understandably well past his prime) looks pretty basic lol. Seeing handchecking like that just reminds me how much of a hack that is defensively, low skill, just mugging.

I didn’t know it was Natalie Sago. It makes sense. She shouldn’t be in the league, let alone college
