As of this morning the Pistons are a game over .500 and sitting in the 6th playoff spot in the East. Not even the play-in, the play offs. At the 44 game mark, just over half way through the season, they have already won 9 more games than their win total all of last season. This is basically with the same team they had last year (Bojan and Burke were shooting about the same as Beasley and Hardaway). And their recent push to respectability has been done without their, arguably, second best player, Jaden Ivey being out with a broken leg.

Those that doubt that Monty Williams was trying to get fired by actively sabotaging the team can only believe that he is an utterly and completely incompetent coach with this drastic turn around. Sure, Bickerstaff is a good coach, but is he really that great to create this huge a turn around; the Cavs fired him and they also just got better.

It feels nice to see the Pistons decent again after a long drought. I can almost say Deeeetroit Baaasketbaaaaalllll!
I'd say JB a hell of a coach but still like many....give him talent he can win. Don't and he wont.

This is really impressive this year, though...credit to JB AND the players.

Rumors about a Lonzo Ball reunion with the Lakers are...interesting.

Dumb.

He's not worth giving up assets for at his 20 mil salary. In a theoretical world where he's healthy, he does fit what the Lakers need. But with his injury history and what you'd have to give up to get him (Rui's salary would be the most logical piece though you could also do packages around Gabe/Vando), its not worth it.

A Lakers/Lonzo reunion makes more sense in the offseason when he'll be a free agent. I can't see any teams giving him a long term deal considering his injury history so I'm betting his market is gonna be a 1 or 2 year deal somewhere between the vet min and MLE cash value wise as a "prove it" deal

Same. It was understandable when he forced his way out previously...but the Heat are as solid as an organization gets. Has he even said what the issue is?

I'm not sure what Butler's issue is but it's a bad look for him.

@bksballer89

Can you help out with this Miami question?

He's played 2 months straight of about 20-25mpg. His defense is there, his offense not quite back yet. For me, he's a fall back if they can't get Bruce Brown. They can both defend 1-3, but I still see Lonzo as more backup PG than multi-position defender.

Thanks for the answer. Butler's on the wrong side of 30 for max deal. Pat knows that.
