The numbers are the numbers. As a starter:

14.3 pts, 5.7 rebounds, 8.4 assists, 2.6 st, 52.1 % fg. Here’s the most important, they are 6-1. He’s not all of the sudden going to turn into a real efficient player, that’s not happening. But it’s good to see the most athletic player ever in a league of athletes turn back the clock a little.
What he really needs to do is dedicate all his focus on his shooting late in his career. If he could do that, he could be a solid piece to a championship team.

The Cavs left him open in the corner and he can’t resist. Brick city.

It was though. “he is getting way too much playing time”

Yes because they’re winning with him getting these minutes. Who should they give minutes to? Strawther

It isn’t hate.

Look at his stats. Look at his play style.

It has worked the last few games.

But Russ hasn’t all of a sudden changed who he is. He is still shooting 4 3s a game in these minutes. He has just been finishing extremely well at the rim over this stretch of games.

And Russ’ play over the last 2-3 seasons suggests he will not keep that up.

And my bet is that when this hot streak ends, so too will Denver’s winning with Russ starting.

For now. I still wouldn’t want to play a healthy Orlando, Milwaukee, or a Heat team with a motivated Jimmy in the playoffs. Would not be a fun matchup for whoever finishes 3rd
I tend to agree- especially a healthy Orlando and Milwaukee and if Jimmy is healthy. Those are 3 teams that can theoretically do damage

Is he though?

He has been scoring efficiently over the last few games.

But…

He is shooting 43% from the field, 31% from 3 and 61% from the line.

He can’t play without the ball and every possession he uses is one that Murray and Jokic don’t.

The W/L record with Russ starting is a fluke. He is getting way too much playing time right now.

Overall, his advanced stats aren't much different from last year's. His assists/40 are up a little, rebounds/40 and points/40 down a little. Slightly better assist/TO. 2pt % down, 3 pt % up (but still only 31%), FT % down. Raw assists are up, but so are the turnovers.

He's started 10 games. Did they tie the other 3?

Your point?

It was a single digit game against the 3rd worst team in the league with 15 seconds left. That much usage for Westbrook wasn't the overwhelmingly positive influence on the game it seems. Didn't watch the game (why would I?), so I could be wrong, just glancing at stats really (and that's all a triple-double is anyway).

yeah. Still, people that shoot in the 90+% range are usually straight shooters like Steph.

Repeatability is key. Fewer moving parts helps with that, and Embiid has a simple, effective form. I get so frustrated watching guys like Lebron start fading on their FTs during games.
