intersting move

@fightinfunbags tradinf clippers 2028 for Knect (rockets pick) and taking dasilva is…kinda fun?

And you still have absurd loads of cap space but added two older shooters out of the draft who should be playing day 1
It’s intriguing but it doesn’t fit Morey’s M.O.

Perhaps

He’s not waiting that pick out with embiids body/health

And even Miami is convinced there isn’t a star hunt going on

He can’t burn another year of embiids career waiting it out, can he?

Hes going to have multiple options for a big name wing and then he’s gonna fill in the gaps around it. I think all 4-5 picks he has available to him will get dealt.

Agreed

Shaq is on tv because he hasn’t grown up

He’s a big kid and it’s fun as hell
Life's stressful as fuck enough.

Sports is a nice diversion and fun doesn't hurt anything.

Lebron won 3 MVP’s before he won a title(with his 3rd win coming in the year he won his 1st title but his award was announced before his win) so at least Joker won one the year before he won his 3rd.

Now I’m not comparing LeBron‘s skill set to Jokic’s I’m just saying the NBA changes how they vote and what criteria they use all the time and so acting like changing it for Jokic is somehow unheard of is ridiculous

Not a good comparison.

LeBron was the # 1 overall pick with massive expectations put on him before he even played his first game. And Jokic was the 41st pick.

I think the reason some might have an issue with Joker winning his 3rd MVP is he only has one ring.

Come on, man.

Kobe deserved to have at least 1 of the 2 MVP's Nash got.

No he didn't. We've been through this before.

When Nash won his two MVP's he led the Suns to the best record in the WC. 62-20 in '05. In '06 they went 54-28 (good for 2nd in the WC). And Kobe guided the Lakers to a 34-48 (finished 11th) record in '05 (missed the playoffs) and in '06 the Lakers went 45-37 (7th place- made playoffs, 1st round exit).

1-Regular season award.

2-Take Kobe off the 2006 team and they win 20-25 games tops.

1. So you wanted Kobe to win an MVP for guiding the Lakers to an 11th and 7th place regular season finish? Come on man!

2. That means nothing. Take LeBron off the Heat they don't go to four finals. Take LeBron of the Cavs and they don't make the greatest comeback in Finals history or even make the Finals. And take LeBron off the '20 Lakers and no 17th banner (and no Finals trip).

Take Joker off last years Nuggets and they don't win it all.

Gotta go all the way back to the 1955-56 season to find an MVP on a losing team. Bob Pettit.

And here are the three players that won MVP but failed to win 50 regular season games. Moses- '79 & '82. Westbrook (averaged a trip-dub for '16-17 + led league in scoring) and Jokic for the '21-'22 season. Led league in trip-dubs (19) and double-doubles (66).

Pretty interesting article about a guy that stands to win a lot of money if the Thunder were to win a title. I wasn’t aware of how many secondary markets were out there for stuff like this. He could have cashed out for $75k and didn’t do it.

I think next round is the round to hedge. I think OKC has enough here to get by Dallas. I’m 50/50 on them vs the Nugs/T’Wolves winner.
