I think Reid had a solid case for whether or not KAT got hurt. His 14 games as a starter he averaged 6 more minutes a game. I would say Monk missing 10 games is a bigger impact than the 84 extra minutes Reid put up as a starter. You can make the case that the fact he was good enough to step in for an All Star and the team success did not plummet proves he is the best 6th man.

I would feel comfortable with Reid winning that way as well. I get the 6th man has always been a who scored the most award, but Reid was a more efficient scorer while being a significantly better defender. All year, bench or not, the Wolves have been a better team when he is on the floor. Kings are the same whether he was on the floor or not.

The idea that Kat getting hurt should invalidate everything else is a bad take imo.

Issue here is there wasn't a word about Reid being 6MOY prior to Monk injury. Using injuries against Monk when he was the clear front runner shows why these end of year votings continue to be a scam. Playing 72 games isn't a bad thing

I agree 72 is a good thing, I also don't think a player getting hurt forcing Reid to the starting lineup should not invalidate everything he was as their 6th man.

I will say, if the Lakers don't do anything in the playoffs I probably will root for OKC - even though the motherfuckers should be the Sonics.

They're a young and fun team and have a great future ahead of them.
