Again also didn't recall this was the same knee has meniscus removed on roughly 7 years ago.

It would be amazing if we saw him in one injury free year. His best shot came with Kawhi year...

I would set the likelihood at less than 50 percent at this point...in fact if it was me I'd find a reason to shelve him until next March (if he can't play this year) and ramp him up for playoffs

That would mean Philly would have to use that draft capital so they are at least a play in team.
And they probably need to bring back Harris at a lower salary. He missed the last game but averaging 27ppg, 7.5rpg and 4.5 apg the last 2 games. But, he might be using the rest of the season to land his last big contract.

The Sixers just won’t let me rip off the bandaid. Embiid has elected the surgery. When they get in there, they’ll make the decision if it’s removal or repair. I forget which one has the shorter recovery time. In one scenario it’s 6-8 weeks and in another it’s 4-6 months.

Either way his season is over.

Bought some shoes from a drug dealer once upon a time. Not sure what he laced them with but I was tripping all day.

:drum:

I think the repair is the longer timeline.

Could be wrong, but I think the repair option is what they do for a full tear.

If he gets surgery on Wednesday and it’s the 6-8 week scenario, 6 weeks is March 20th and 8 weeks is April 3rd. Regular season ends on Sunday April 14th.

This seems to be the conventional wisdom I’ve read among the different orthopedic types who have been posting about this. This guy spells out the two choices and says the shorter recovery time is the most likely best course of action for what’s been described as the “flap”.

fingers crossed man
Man, in a weird sort of way, this might actually be the way to get Embiid to the playoffs healthy haha. He’s on the shelf for the next 6-7 weeks. Then he gets 6-10 games to get himself back to playing strength and conditioning on a minutes restriction of like 24-28 minutes and then he’s good to go on playoffs.

It will be a tough path as a 6 seed or even a play in team.

my only concern in his case is this is multiple times now with the same knee.

I really feel like he's going to have work on dropping 30 pounds now. I said 20...But those knees and feet are going to need a small break.

I picked Wednesday as the target date for surgery because trade deadline is Thursday. If they go in and see they have to do the procedure that requires longer recovery I hope Morey has this info going into the deadline.

He’s going to be a shit show at 45-50 years old. It’s going to be a chore to even get out of bed every morning.

I’d imagine this could help kick the can down the road on when he starts experiencing daily pain in his life but it’s coming regardless. His knees are going to be so arthritic.

If he has surgery Thursday or Friday.....Morey still needs to be on the phone looking for a deal.

Yea...his quality of life is not going to be great in terms of pain management. Hopefully something comes along in thr medical field by then.

yea

they are 10 games clear of 11th. They're 4 and 10 without him this year.

This is the downside to trading James.
