If I was totally confident in Mitchell re-signing I would deal Garland. Garland is a really good player but he is clearly redundant with Mitchell.

Trade him for LeBron and Reeves!
Works for me. We can throw in LeVert and salary

Biggest worry is Garland. I had doubts for over a year now and I think he just isn't a good fit. Pretty frustrating bc he is extremely talented. I think Mitchell is perfectly capable with running an offense and getting guys involved with saw that with Garland out.
This could be true but the guy was among the top 4 and 5 man groupings in the entire league last season.

I'd at least like to see what this team could do if ever fully healthy and able to play together for a long stretch of games. we were also 6-3 without Mitchell and 3-1 without Garland, Mobley AND Mitchell (go figure).

and if it goes South and Lebron leaves, followed by Mitchell out the door?

LeBron is taking his talents to Kensington and Allegheny.

according to stephen A. he needs to go to NY as no team is better set up for a Finals run than them if they add Lebron. Seems like they were going to be allowed to circumvent the CBA and LA was not going to want much in return for him, though, other than picks. Windy had to be biting his lip to not call him a dunderhead.

has to be at least, what, a dozen teams who are the favorites if they simply added Lebron? Thinking more teams would be than not.

def the risk--

I mean- i wouldn't do anything with Garland until Mitchells name is on a contract when it really comes down to it.
Yep...and even that could be tough if it's clear Mitchell being here is why Garland wants to stay. sure, could tell him he's staying and then deal him but then Mitchell could ask out. Though I doubt he would if the deal worked.

He clearly likes him and the kid is just 22.

Maybe he thinks he can still become a good player?

He has all the traits of being a good basketball player

except the part where we put the ball in the basket

Well, there is more to the game than just scoring.

Pass, defend, and rebounding lead to scoring.

It might work for others teams. But it's brutal when your backcourt can't shoot. In his case he won't shoot now.

I hate this upcoming draft because it's several Frenchmen

But Sarr should be decent.
