In sports like the nba and baseball that are long, people don't care about title favorites when there's 70% of the regular season left to play. Get back to me in early April.

NBA playoffs are FAR less random than MLB ones

And favorites doesn't mean they are going to win for sure, just they are more likely to than other teams

Yeah let me see the lay of the land after the trade deadline at least. I know in the East there’s a chance that no fewer than 8 teams could look very very different.
