His results beat that out. He engineered the KG Celtics defenses that were at the top of the league. His Bulls teams were always great defensively and the Knicks have been a lot better than the sum of their parts on the defensive side.

When at high levels, boxing out isn’t even taught by most coaches anymore. It is “hit, find and fly”.

Boxing out is for guys and gals who play below the rim.

Thibs is a defensive innovator and lot of coaches base their man defense off of his rotation schemes and principles. He doesn’t play much zone because his teams ALWAYs play great man. They are well schooled and well disciplined in their principles.

Saying Thibs doesn’t teach defense is one of the more ignorant things you have ever posted here.
