the best the cavs have played is without mitchell. Mobley and Allen and Garland are totally different.

In the playoffs its obviously better to have him but it really makes you think if in the long run giving the shine to Mobley and Garland might be a better idea.

they could easily trade Mitchell for something substantial if they wanted to.

Porter is an absolute steal. Lloyd wrote we were trying to get another 2nd rounder after Bates to draft him but he was an UFA. Great signing to get value from that. He looks like a legit backup point guard thus far.

They let the Sixers back in the game because they aren’t used to closing with that group. I think Pat Bev on Garland helped in the 4th to slow him down a little. That’s the best Allen game I’ve seen him have vs Embiid. He was great tonight. And that’s part getting up for the challenge of Embiid, Bickerstaff coming with two layers of lob off pick and roll to take advantage of Embiid having to help, and Garland for executing it.

Disappointed in the Sixers effort early defensively. They weren’t ready for Garland’s speed. Make or miss league and neither Maxey nor Embiid shot well tonight. I’m happy with that Embiid look at the end of regulation. It just didn’t go down. I’m happier with the play Nurse drew up the end of OT to use Maxey’s speed to the rim. That one just didn’t go down. Tip at the rim also doesn’t go down.

Congrats Cavs! I think you out Okoro back in for Wade and that’s a nice group without Mitchell. They need to take advantage of this Mitchell injury to sell him on dialing back his hero ball and being a spot up shooter a bit off of Garland’s speed on pick and roll. That shit is nasty because he can break down so many covers.

and it sure looks like to me Porter Jr. is their backup PG. Its obviously still early as hell but he looks like a legit rotation guy.
