Yeah, on one hand, I understand if he doesn't want to go through all that is involved with going to another team in a season where he's retiring. Especially when it sends him clear across the country. It's not like they traded him to a West Coast team.

On the other hand, this is part of the reason NBA players have guaranteed contracts. So, either show up and play...or retire now (which he may be considering) so the Sixers don't have to pay your contract.
