Was he getting paid those 2 years? They count of course.
Nope. Not in the context of that conversation unless you want to establish his legitimate injury issues.

You know a guy has an agenda when two lost years where he didn’t even get on to the court are used to take the averages his way.

It’s facts man.

Take those 2 seasons out and he is at about 2/3 of his teams games played.

That is not enough to be considered among the best when the players he is being compared to play 82 or damn near it.

Yep. Compare that to other big men who have come into the league with existing injuries. Oden would have loved to have gotten the run out of his body Embiid has gotten. Based on his early injuries and where those injuries are, it’s amazing he’s been able to play the games he has.

You’re off your rocker if you can’t see that Embiid is the best two way big in the league and the best scoring center the league has seen since Moses Malone. He’s unguardable now that he distributes the basketball.

Peak Shaq would like a word but given how the game is played today he would not be as efficient.

Would have been interesting to see Hakeems game in this era.

Shaq can’t shoot the way Embiid can shoot. Embiid is a 3 level scorer.

I agree.

Well no obviously. Which is why I clarified within the era difference. Shaq in an iso scenario was really tough. He'd be defended much differently now. I don't know how he'd do. But for his era his dominance is tough to top.

And yes the titles etc to go with it.

And yes I'm aware Shaq also had Kobe lol.

I'm sure Joel would kill for Kobe.

Sure, but if you put Embiid into the pre-3 NBA era, that floor-spreading value drops significantly. Comparing eras is always troublesome.

Initially. Shaq/Kobe became an issue eventually.

If you think Kobe was unhappy with Shaq's "rehab on company time", just imagine what he would think of Embiid playing half of the games.

The only reason I have made it my agenda is because Philly homers (you) continue to try to diminish Jokic to prop up their guy.

So my agenda is in response to yours.

Embiid on talent absolutely compares with any big who has ever played.

But the simple fact that you just compared him to Greg Oden and have to qualify his accomplishments with that is the reason why he will never be in those conversations.

Jokic isn’t going to go ahead of Hakeem or Shaq or Wilt on too many all time lists.

Maybe Embiid could have in an alternate reality. Bill Walton would be right there with him.

But that isn’t the reality that we live in.

Embiid would have killed the illegal defense rule. And you couldn’t play Hack Embiid like you could Hack a Shaq

Based on medical technology at that time, he likely is Jeff Ruland or Oden unable to get on the floor much at all and an early retirement.

Yea idk what crackpot doctor worked on Oden but he fucked him up. Must've went to the same guy Brandon Roy went to.
