He has not forgotten how to shoot, he is just 30. Just a few seasons ago in Dallas he made 46% and 41%. No superstars in Brooklyn, he saw a lot of contested shots. On the Lakers with AD and Bron he will see more open looks.

Not to mention Dinwiddie is a good passer and Reaves plays better off the ball.
He hasn’t forgotten how to shoot because he has rarely achieved it to begin with.

He’s shot 40% from 3 twice in his career.

Hasn’t he been in the league 10 years?

Spencer is solid.

He isn’t a game changer.

He is who he is.

Not to be a Debbie downer .

But, most guys that come to the Lakers actually shoot worse, not better.

Which is fascinatingly perplexing.

He can pass and rebound in addition to shoot and score. Not a great defender, but I would say average.

I wanted him to help our shooting for the last few seasons.
He's a much better passer than I gave him credit for being. Agree on defense. He’s never been a part of a solid defensive scheme. Hopefully, Nurse can find a way for him to contribute at that end.

He has never shot 40%.

Career high is 36.9%

The 40% marks were two partial seasons in Dallas sandwiched between trades.

I think the Lakers shooting worse thing has been because the biggest names they have brought to play alongside LeBron have been asked to fill roles that don’t suit their skill sets.

Marcos was fucking up the Mongolian Murderer…lol

That last foul was a real….:

Kick in the balls….lol

Literally.

Also…

Joe Pyfer hype train is off the tracks.

I picked Hermanson in all my lineups. Thought the only way Pyfer would win is catching him with a crispy. Almost did. But obviously Pyfer lacks a lot to ever be a contender.

That Giles fight was kind of a bummer because he had Prates on the ropes.

Taurean prince is the best example of that of late imo. We just think he's suddenly going to be a stout offensive wing because he's with Lebron?

idk. But at least he's cheap Rui is a little painful.

Yikes

An even worse hill for @DJ to try and die on.

I’m not calling him a scrub.

Just saying he isn’t an improvement over what they already had.

But, like TF12 said, he is insurance if DLo melts down or another facilitator goes down.

He is probably more insurance on the defensive end really.

Have you seen our bench? He absolutely is an upgrade over what we had there since Russell and Reaves start.

And it's easy to say it was a partial season but 53 games? Isn't exactly an 8-12 game sample size.

I meant the known shooters that they have signed over the years.

Dude

The 7 other full Seasons aren’t a small sample size either.

You aren’t going to convince me otherwise because I have watched him his entire career.

Time will tell which of us is correct.

Oof.

Cam can defend.

But, isn’t always particularly great at anything else.

So, maybe @DJ is right about Spencer taking his minutes.

Cam is actually a much worse shooter than Spencer. Better defender....sure. I guess you play them to the situation

Well, good thing I never said he would make 40%. All I said was he will benefit from the open looks he will get. I would be happy if he can make 35-37%.

He benefitted from the open looks he got in Dallas. Hence, why he shot so well there.
