I can see that. Mitchell is probably a little closer to superstar than anything Detroit had. Not much though.
That Pistons team was one of the few in history that did not have a superstar.

Played great as a team with an excellent head coach.

And Dumars blew it by letting him go.

They were one game away from back to back titles and Dumats fires the coach of that team.

Joe deserves credit for building the team but he also deserves all the credit for destroying it.

Kind of like that guy in Chicago when the Bulls had their run.

Regarding destroying it.

eh

Krause was in a tougher spot cap wise. Pippen wanted top dog money (rightfully so) and I don't think it could have worked.

Joe at least got a decent backup plan. He really threw it all in the garbage with the Iverson trade and hiring Curry.

The player that needed replaced was Sheed not Chauncey. Billups had 2 all star years after that and was good for a few more.

True.

Forgot about Pippen wanting that.

I can't recall it all back then. I just know Jordan was like half the cap or something crazy.

MJ made just over 33 mill his last season with the Bulls. Pippen's last season he made just under 2.8 mill.

when you inflate that MJ made like 60 million his last year lol.

Again...I don't recall how the cap operated then but I know MJs salary was a major complication to keeping Pippen.

He has not forgotten how to shoot, he is just 30. Just a few seasons ago in Dallas he made 46% and 41%. No superstars in Brooklyn, he saw a lot of contested shots. On the Lakers with AD and Bron he will see more open looks.

Not to mention Dinwiddie is a good passer and Reaves plays better off the ball.
He is a career 33% shooter from 3

In his 11 nba seasons, he only shot above his career 3 pt% 3x

Yea signing is fine but he never been a great 3 pt shooter outside of those 2 yrs in Dallas so it shouldn’t be expected that he will turn into one now

agreed

I guess they could get by with a small lineup at times. Dinwiddie can guard a lot of 3s. Just not 4s like the Nets had him doing sometimes lol

4 times actually. If you want to be technical.

The last 2 times he did it? In Dallas when he was surrounded by better players. Not too much of a reach to think he can do it with the Lakers......with the open looks he will get with AD and Bron there. Open looks=better chance of making the shot. SMH.
