How can you have a Hart winner whose team misses the playoffs?!?

:behindsofa:
TBH, Drai won both the Lindsey and the Hart so I'm fine with him winning.

But somebody has to explain to me how Connor McDavid, who is universally accepted as the best player in the league at the moment, finishes 5th in voting despite scoring at a rate of 3 fewer points and 6 fewer goals than Drai while playing on the same god-awful team and drawing most of the defensive attention.

Nathan MacKinnon outscored the 2nd highest scorer on his team (Cale Makar) by 43 points. How does he not win the Hart?

Gord Miller just tweeted that 2 voters didn’t even have him in their top 5.

Iggy lost the Hart in 2002 when a Montreal voter left him completely off his ballot. Jose Theodore won in one of the closest votes ever.

I wonder what the lowest +/- rating is for a Hart trophy winner.

-7 for Drai in case you were curious
-6 for McWonderful

+13 for Nate MacKinnon

My point was the voters are tucked in their jammies by the time Canucks games start.
Argument works better against a team in the Metro, but l'll stick by it.

43’s favorite douchenozzle lol

Two voters, Stu Cowan (Montréal Gazette) and Aaron Portzline (The Athletic), did not submit any selections for All-Star Goaltender, nullifying their votes for all positions on the All-Star teams.
