Yeah definitely. As far as Peters, still a good option but he is like 38, on his last limb. Trent is only 32, I feel like he can be more productive. Either way I would like a veteran OT if they can't get Thomas, Wills or Wirfs

agree, but assuming Williams needs to be paid close to $15 mil or more, tough to pay him, Tretter, Bitonio AND Conklin big money. I doubt he'd last more than a couple years here either way.

Peters was getting around $9M last year...not sure how much he wants but for a guy 7 years younger I will pay him an extra $6M. Trent can still possibly be one of the best OT's in the game...Peters might retire next season. Huge difference imo. Really just depends if Trent wants long-term...I'm sure he does with how WAS played out so that means he probably has 2-3 years at least.

The Browns have the cap especially if this will be their only other FA signing/trade...they will just have to sign draft picks. If they frontload the contract it will only help with future spending as well. I think they are estimated to have like $120M+ next year in cap lol

Who knows what the cap will be next year....especially if no season or a season with no fans in stands.

Only reason they can spend what they do is cap carryover. Spend it and they have less next year.

We don't really KNOW what most guys will be......But most had Peppers going where he did while many seem to think Simmons is much better. He's also bigger and as fast or faster than Peppers.

I mean, if the Ravens could only draft one from among Ray Lewis and Ogden who do you think they would have taken? It's a no-brainer to me.

I wouldn't necessarily lump this guy as a tweener like, say, Derrick Williams who many thought might not be good enough to play SF or PF.

Of course we don't know, but I think it's riskier to take a guy with an undefined position than one who has excelled at one, especially in the top 10. There are some high quality LBs in this draft that I'd much rather take later.

Agree....but IF they believe he is an elite LB who could also play other positions I'd take him....and seems some do believe this. Question is does anyone who matters believe it.

I think I'd rather have Simmons than taking who I perceived to be my 3-4th choice at OT if that is what it comes down to for them.

NFL coaches and general managers prefer certitude, and that's nearly impossible to come by as it pertains to Simmons' role. In a poll of 16 executives asking what they thought his best position would be in the NFL, 10 replied weak-side linebacker, three said nickel linebacker, one said outside linebacker and two said safety. “If you put this guy at sam linebacker only, he’s going to struggle,” said an AFC executive. “If you put him at free safety only, he’s going to struggle. You’ve got to be creative." He gives the option for a team to be flexible but it's not necessary, you can stick him at WILL, Nickel Linebacker, Strong Safety and Simmons will be just fine in those positions.

Build: Size is far less of a consideration for a WILL backer than it would be for either the SAM or MIKE positions. He’s generally going to be around 5’10” – 6’0” tall, weigh 215-230 pounds, and be built more like an oversized free safety than a prototypical linebacker. He is generally leaner than the other linebackers and will be narrower through the shoulders and hips so he can adeptly navigate traffic, penetrate the line and make plays on the ball.

Athleticism: To (sort of) steal a line from one of my favorite movies, the WILL is usually built more for speed than for power. That is to say, of the three linebackers, teams generally value quick-twitch athleticism, speed, fluid footwork and a seamless ability to change direction in their WILL linebackers. He is definitely the best athlete among the linebackers and, in some cases, might be the best athlete on the defense because he needs to be able to cover the most ground in every direction.

Intangibles: Great WILL linebackers are defined by one thing – their instincts. They have to be able to read the offensive line, know where the ball is going, and get to his “spot” before the ball carrier does. He also has to be able to anticipate route combinations and make plays in the passing game.

If you looking for WILL (Weak side) LB, Simmons is your guy.

They can build him the way they feel fit in who ever's defense drafts him!

Not buying the overrated label for Simmons. If a team likes the way he fits their defense they will draft him or trade up to draft him. He won't fall past 10, I actually think he won't get past 7.

I'd agree with that. If their top 2 choices at OT are gone, that's when I'm getting on the horn.

Tua Off 2 Teams' Boards Because of Injuries - Buy. Injuries are always a concern, I would venture to say it is more than two and he dropped on some as well.

Tua's Wonderlic Score Creates Concern - Sell. Now that we know it is 19 that isn't a concern.

Patriots Could Pursue Tua - Sell. I just don't see it unless he drops out of the top 10.

Only 1 RB Will Be Drafted in the 1st Round - Buy. I could see Swift being picked in the 1st but I could realistically see none being picked.

But I'm not sure if he falls to #12, would you be ok with Raiders trying to trade up for Simmons?
