Eason just doesn't have it. He is too big of a project in my opinion. The arm talent is off the charts for sure and he would make a nice backup for a team that maybe he could come in for a game or two and light it up but to use a 1st round pick on a guy that just seems so far away from being NFL ready is not something I can justify.

Fromm in the right system, with the right talent, with the right coaches could find some success but again he is a guy that I view as a very high quality backup. Case Keenum type guy that is lacking an NFL arm but has some intelligence that he could bring to the table.
i agree.......totally agree........yeah fromm isnt a starter at all IMHO, high end backup due to whats bw the ears

Lock needed some time for sure but he was nowhere near at the level of rawness that you saw from Eason this past year. Lock showed at least a basic understanding of protecting the football. Eason just fires away and hopes something good happens.

All right as of today this is where I see the QB's :

1. Burrow
2. Herbert ( I think with the senior bowl week and the combines he has gained a ton of looks now)
3. Tua ( I don't care what the media report said this week, this type of injury is a huge red flag)
4. Eason ( biggest arm in the class and he had a good combine)
5. Hurts ( threw the ball really well, good velocity and was on target on every route)

Exactly right Eason has had piss poor coaching through the college ranks, but I will say this, Eason will have a better pro record over Tua!

I loved Tua as a college player but I believe he is the Mariota of this class
Eason will be drafted in the late 20's and it will be :billb:that sits him behind tommy for a couple years

Patriots kinda already have that guy in Stidham.

I do think Eason will probably be drafted ahead of where Lock was last year. Rd2 Tampa or Chargers would both make sense as fits imo.

with a QB, real early 2nd rd. One of those teams you talk about might trade up to one of the last picks in the 1st to get him secured for that 5th season.

Chargers could be interesting in the 2nd if they miss out on Herbert in the first.
Tampa Bay with BA I think shines away from the rookie QB's he seems to like the established QB vet.

Yeah, and a team like the Chiefs is going to want to trade back and pick up more picks because they can't pay Mahomes, Chris Jones, Sammy Watkins and Fuller.

I think this whole QB picking starts at #3 and what the Lions do or take when someone wants to move up.
I think Carolina, Tampa, Chargers ( was actually typing SD) I believe what Mayock said this weekend about Carr being their guy so I don't see them moving up.

I don't think Mayock moves up because he is going to want a WR in rd1 and/or rd2 and if he moves up for a QB then he misses out on that.

I think the question with the Raiders becomes - if Ruggs, Jeudy, and Lamb are all on the board then which one do they pick? Does Mayock try to move down?

I think goes Lamb ( has too) now with his second first he goes defense, he doesn't want to pay two first round wide outs in five years kills his cap and he has a stud RB getting paid the year before.

I think it depends on who falls but I'd guess they're slotted in at WR and LB in rd1 in some order. I think the teams in front of them (Cardinals, Browns, Jets) would block them from getting reliable OL value and I'm guessing Mayock probably think he can fix the secondary with a variety of later round picks.

I'm sure Seattle will draft someone in the 1st round that basically nobody has heard of, who is a 4th round prospect, and claim, "That's our guy, and we really didn't think he'd fall to our 2nd rounder." while he proceeds to do fuck all for the rest of his career.

Might, but we have to remember just because we as fans don't think much separates certain guys, might not be the case in actual draft rooms.

I had a precognitive dream that the Bengals did not pick a QB at #1. I really don't care about it, so it's strange that I had this dream.

Time to find out if I am clairvoyant.

Hurts is looking like this draft's Dak to me. Quietly improved, but being overlooked by draft pundits.

I don't know if thats a fair comparison. Dak was on a team that was overmatched in college and Hurts was on a team thats a pretty consistent offensive juggernaut.

The thing about Hurts, though, is that you can see the arm strength. Scouts are saying that he can make the important throws. He is going to go ahead of the Jake Fromms of the world.
