The COWBOY'S defense was scored on, in three consecutive series vs. Green Bay at DALLAS in the playoffs.
The goal is to win playoff games and Super Bowls, not just a division title.
And how did Green Bay do vs. Atlanta?. Green Bay has a useless defense also.
The COWBOYS drafted Zeke last year......great running back no doubt.
We drafted Jaylon Smith and that didn't do much for last year's defense.
It seems the COWBOYS have ignored the defense or drafted "projects" like Randy Gregory.
and picked up, FAs like Greg Hardy, etc.

Not even close. I don't dislike anybody on this board. I just argue against things I strongly disagree with. Some of the things you say I disagree with but I don't always respond to it unless it's something that I feel like I have to respond to.

But in response to the original topic, our Boys going 11-5 or better with reasonable health from our core players. We will have another fantastic draft. Dak and Zeke are the truth. That's no homer. I just think we are currently the best ran team in the East right now and one of the best ran in the NFC. The Eagles and Giants are trying to buy good teams but keep having poor drafts. Washington is Washington. We got a good blueprint that's been working since 2014 as long as there is competent QB play. My faith always remains strong in Marinelli. That is all.

I think we had a top 5 scoring defense in 2009? 2003 we had the number two scoring D and number one yardage wise. But yeah, the D is mediocre more often than not.

I'm not one to rely on stats alone because things don't happen in a vacuum and it's what you do when it matters that is most important, but the ironic thing is we had a top 5 scoring defense LAST YEAR!

I agree. Marinelli does more with less. Just think if he had a group of great athletes........like Sean Lee
I believe the COWBOYS are spending around 100 mil on the offense this season(with Romo's 24.7 mil)
And the defense in salaries is about 35 mil (before F.A.)
Benson Mayowa was the sack leader with 6 sacks
The COWBOYS defense was ranked 13th in the NFL in sacks (which is not terrible)
The COWBOYS D was ranked 27th in INTs
The COWBOYS had the best run defense in the NFL
COWBOYS were plus 5 in giveaway / takeaway

If we could shore up the back end next to Jones, it would do wonders towards building this defense.

I think the key to winning in the NFL is having great players. I also think if players are good enough you will find a way to get them on the field. Right now we have a great veteran LB, 2 young guys that have shown promise and a guy that has never seen the field and perhaps never will. So no, I would not be upset if we felt a LB was the best player available and drafted him.
