Any chance Lou takes Fucale at 9?

I hope not. I'd prefer to see what our homegrown guys have to offer (Wedgewood/Kincaid). We are dangerously thin when it comes to top end forward prospects so I hope that's the direction we head.

Also I don't trust goaltending prospects and wouldn't want to take one that high.

It's really risky to burn a first round draft pick on a goalie (you just never know if they're going to pan out). Obviously, Marty was a great first round pick for New Jersey, but I'd rather address needs on forward or defense with a first round pick.

He could have ended up as the next Trevor Kidd inst....ooh, sorry dash.

You can see the top 3 projected picks play in tonight's Memorial Cup game between Portland (Jones) and Halifax (MacKinnon & Drouin).

Although these 2 teams have never played before, it's the 4th time this season the top pick will play against the 2nd and 3rd. So far Jones is 2-1 against them, including the big one at the WJC in January.

So with Nicushkin saying he's coming to North America next season & the very likely possibility of Tampa Bay selecting him at 3, Nashville must be extactic. They could end up with Jonathan Drouin at #4.

NHLonTSN: Note: If Boston makes it to the Conference Final, then Dallas will get Boston's 1st round pick from the Jagr trade at the deadline. #TSN

Yeah, him or MacKinnon. Not a bad situation to be in.

No way the Avs don't take Jones.

And barring an epic collapse by the Bruins, that's pretty much a foregone conclusion at this point.

Not only were they up 3-0 on the Flyers, but they were leading 3-0 in game 4 of that series in 2010. It really doesn't matter though with that Cup win the following year.

The BJ's, Flames, Sabres, & Stars are going to be very busy in the first two rounds that's for sure.

It's nice to have some picks, but I hope Feaster doesn't trade them for a bag of magic pucks.

I don't know why, but I really have a feeling Lou will trade our number 9 pick. Whether it's in order to move up in the draft or trade down for more picks I'm not sure, but I have a feeling he compensates for a lack of a first rounder next year by either moving up to grab a real impact player or adding more pieces.

God damn it that loss of a first rounder next year still really bothers me. Total BS.

Yup, no way NJ should have been singled out when several other teams (including the Flames and the Kipper contract) were guilty of the same thing.

What ammunition does Lou have to trade up with? Calgary has three 1's & sit in the 6th spot. The Blue Jackets have 3 first round picks & a number of talented prospects to dangle if they want to move up. I just don't think the Devils can offer anything close to what other lottery teams can to move up.

Moving down is another matter. Lou will obviously listen to Conte as to the player they want. The question is where do they believe that player should be slotted in the draft order.
