I hope owners expand the roster, and the actives on game day.
These guys are stronger and faster. Whether it's 6, 12, 16 or 18 games injuries are going to happen. Roster expansion and Practice squad expansion will be needed.Yes, but injuries INCREASE the longer the season goes along.
Good point, more games , more depthI feel the league's rosters probably need to expand a couple of spots every time they add a game.
Take a trip and play some golf, that helps to keep your cool in the offseason.
If I'm still alive, I will thoroughly enjoy Super Bowl LXXXVII in my wheelchair in April trying to convince the nurse I can still play golf.
Oh boy, those tie-break and seeding procedures.Fuck this.
Make it a 2 game season, then start the playoffs. Go 0-2, you miss the playoffs.
Playoffs are best of 3. One home, one away. If it goes to a 3rd game, play it in North Korea.
Who's with me?
Shit, even that wouldn't be so bad. If the rich cripples would be smart with their money. Way too many NFL players live paycheck to paycheck though. There aren't enough NFL-class players now. Adding games and adding bottom-feeders to rosters isn't going to create more players. It’s going to create more rich cripples.
NK's leader with his Cap'n Crunch dressin ass would probably have your back.Fuck this.

This is as sensible as anything the billionaires come up with.Fuck this.

Not a good time in football history to pursue a career as a running back. That makes sense. Two more games added means more injuries. I am not sure if we saw more injuries this year but it does seem like it especially to QB’s
They should go back to 16 games and give each team two bye weeks. That way there will still be 18 weeks of regular season football and the owners will not lose any revenue. If they keep adding games to the schedule, more games will become meaningless. And there is no use reason to risk injury to star players in meaningless games.
The thing we should of all seen coming

It makes earlier games meaningless. Each game becomes more meaningless the more games there are.I don't think adding an extra game would be meaningless. We've had 17 games the past two seasons and each season it has come down to the last game to determine playoff spots.
In 2022 and 2023, there were 6 teams still playing for 2 playoff spots in the final game at the end of each of those seasons.
It may add meaningless games to the bottom 12 teams and maybe to the top few teams, but those games would be meaningless if you played 16 games. The past two seasons, there have been 6 teams fighting it out for the last playoff spot in each conference. I'm not sure why adding another game would make games less meaningful than a 16 game season.![]()
LOLAnother example:
In the 2023 season, the Eagles won 10 of their first 11 more meaningless games and lost almost all the rest.
They are not. They had to accept gambling to keep their hardcore fans interested. They had to accept pop stars to get anyone else interested. They aren't selling the game itself. They are failing.
One extra game isn’t going to change things. It makes earlier games meaningless. Each game becomes more meaningless the more games there are.
See the NBA.
