I'm not mad. I mean, that's all done with.

I'm just... confused. I don't get it. I don't get this team. What was that?

This isn't a very good Niners football team. This is a very banged up and struggling Niners team. We just played three teams having a much better season than they are. You could argue we could have, should have walked away with three victories.

Typically, normal football teams (which we are most certainly not) respond pretty well after the firing of a HC that had lost the locker room and respect of the team. How did we just play (maybe) our worst game of the season?

I mean, I understand that our D has had their issues over the past 5-6 weeks. However, that was something else, ENTIRELY. They were sleep walking. 319 yards in the first half? The offense was bad, but we've kind of seen them start slow and meander around early in games. Why the hell did our defense look so uninspired?

I continue to be puzzled with this football team. They find a new way to puzzle me, every week. What a weird season.

The front office botched this season with their half measure of firing the coaches. That was monumentally stupid. The players have given up.

We need to start worrying about the realistic outcome that Caleb is going to try to get out of chicago after his rookie contract.

They got absolutely decimated in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

That's all you really need to see to understand.

Bears d-linemen were falling backwards and their own defensive line couldn't get near Purdy or stop the run.

The game is won in the trenches. But our GM doesn't seem to get that.

The 49ers are a Super Bowl caliber team that fell on some rough injuries. BUT, they are still alive and have a chance at the playoffs and played like they had their backs against the wall.

We're an unproven team that hasn't won sh*t in years, led by a rookie QB and interim coaches...and our most talented players are all headcases and haven't really ever won sh*t as well.

Winning begets winning.

Losing begets losing.

It really isn't that hard to put together that SF played like winners and we played like losers.

Yes, there are deficiencies on the line. But getting clownstomped by 24 in a half is a sign of even more issues. So yeah, were we ever winning that game? Nah...But they embarrassed themselves. Kinda nice the players have to look in the mirror this morning. Scapegoating Flus (to be fair, deservedly so) works when there's time management and play calling issues. This game? They played like losers and now the camera is focused on them, deservedly so as well.

I have watched pretty much every game my adult life, so yeah? It’s like family. I love em…but sometimes they hurt me. Or in this case, most times.

as a sox fan .... i get it.

Sox have done better in my post-adolescent life than the Bears...So yeah, double what you feel for the Sox and then add even more pain and you've got an understanding.

I am starting to think we have to fire Poles too. We can’t take another half measure. We need to let everyone start fresh, so the finger pointing doesn’t become a next man up thing.

Only way to truly start fresh is for someone with a cold to cough on Virginia so she dies from pneumonia or something and then her idiot, inbred, braindead children sell the franchise to someone that gives a shit.

Keeping Eberflus was big enough of a blunder that it has drastically altered the course of our franchise and the growth of Caleb Williams.

It is a "fireable" offense, yes.

That being said... I just don't know if continuing the turnstile at GM is the answer. He's done a fair amount of good, I would say. I am not saying that I disagree with the idea. I just don't know. That's hard. That's a lot. That's a lot of chaos and reshuffling. This team isn't blowing everything up. Not heading into year #2 with Caleb - they're not going to start a whole other rebuild. I think you might be married to Poles right now.

I really don't like Kevin Warren. Everything about him just screams "corporate-y full of shit douche bag". Blocks Harbaugh from happening due to some personal vendetta going back to the Big Ten.

I don’t like either. And other than Caleb Williams, how many blue chip players has poles drafted? He’s drafted some decent players, but none have turned into a bonafide star player. He could’ve had Jalen Carter, but passed on him because of culture. The culture of this team looks like shit and Jalen Carter looks like the best DT in the game on the field. His stats might not be there yet, but he’s completely wrecking game plans. Passing on Jalen Carter for a fourth and Wright is going to look more and more like a boneheaded move as time goes on.

Honestly, his stats aren't that much better than Dexter's, so I don't know if that's as a big of a deal as it seems. Wright is still a good RT too, but I get what yer saying.

With that said, I think Poles' goose is cooked. I don't see him wanting to stick around so that he can be Warren's bitch boy. He'll either step down or they'll fire him.

Sticking with Eberflus tells me that he can’t think objectively. Eberflus should’ve never even been hired. Rumor has it that Indy was going to fire him from the DC position and then he wouldve been looking for a job as a linebackers coach. If that’s true, Poles should be fired. He’s a jackass that fell ass backwards into that trade with Carolina.

Dare i say, i was in Poles' corner. Like a rookie QB, he has no other execs in the org to help him. He also inherited a cap nightmare and virtually no draft picks from Pace.

He fixed all of that, negotiated a trade, which at the time, was considered a fleecing of Carolina. And with an assist from Lovie, we were able to land Caleb.

Again, like a rookie QB, I feel Poles has learned from his mistakes and will make strides to be a decent GM. (If Warren isnt a power-hungry tyrant overriding Poles decisions, which is another rumor gaining traction.)

That being said, after all of the nonsense the past few weeks, and more losses, my fandom is on novocain. If they fire Poles (or he resigns which is also a rumor), i feel very little at this point.

I was just saying to a friend the other day...

This is the first time in my life that I feel a true indifference and complete apathy towards this team. Seriously, if there was a breaking news story after the final week of the season that the Chicago Bears were (somehow) going to absolve as a franchise? I don't know if I would feel a thing, at this point.

Whatever is left of this relationship between this team and I? It's purely out of habit. We're an old couple in our 80's that probably should have ended things when the kids left home in our 40's. Instead, we hung on too long and now we're just "here" waking up next to each other. No one's going anywhere - not at this point.

Oh, yer preaching to the choir with the Eberflus stuff. It was a shit hire, and then doubled down by keeping him after last year.
