E. Loco reporting from DC. A little windy but only a light drizzle so far. MD and DC mostly shutting down in anticipation of the storm. We'll be here on the scene with more updates as we have news.

And let's get an update from Baltimore or Philly... C. Omeds? A. Waz? Any news?

Its not bad here yet. I'm hearing the wind every once in a while and the rain has been constant but not coing down hard since last night.

The worse stuff is coming.

Meh... not worried. Kind of shocked at how many places in central/northern CT that have cancelled school/work. Looks like it's only going to be southwestern CT that gets hit hard. But, better to be safe than sorry.

I'm here reporting from Dulles Airport. It's a little windy right now, but not too bad. A steady lightish rain. It's dark as night, though. I agree with Taz - roads were beautiful this morning.

Isn't the actual storm not over you guys yet though? I thought I heard the actual storm was still like 300 miles off the coast?

Well, I guess it is getting rough in some areas.

The Coast Guard says the weather is preventing it from launching a rescue operation for the crew of the 180-foot, three mast tall ship HMS Bounty, which was taking on water and without propulsion in the Atlantic off North Carolina. The 17-person crew is in two lifeboats and wearing cold-water survival suits, the Coast Guard says.

Yeah, the map on weather.com has it off-shore about even with the NC-VA border. Their track puts it going between Philly and Baltimore on its way inland.

Yeah, the winds are supposed to pick up as the day goes on with the brunt of it hitting tonight around 8 I think. Tomorrow is going to be the interesting day with all the trees down, flooding and power outages.

I'm hoping that if power goes it, I get a win-win. Power lines at my office are above ground, and the ones in my neighborhood are below. Power staying on for everyone is the ideal outcome, but if it goes out at work and stays on at home...that wouldn't be so bad.

Personally, I ACTUALLY enjoy work and would love to be there. However, when they lock the place down, well....what am I supposed to do.
