Danke. Hoping that early in the morning I can walk home, but I'm getting a lot done, so it might not be all bad.

Mostly just hungry right now. How long can I go without food and survive? Like 8 hours?

so the ship bounty that was used in the movies Mutiny on the Bounty and Pirates of the Caribbean sank 90 miles off the coast of the Carolinas (I think I have the correct) 2 crew dead.

what I have to ask is what were they doing out there knowing Sandy was coming? I assume that is a path that Sandy would have affected?

These pictures of NYC are just incredible. Awesome. Not awesome in the modern sense, but in the sense of the actual words definition. Heartwrenching knowing that the NYU hospital's backup generators went out, and that nurses are currently manually ventilating patients all over the place, especially in the ICU. Say a prayer for them and their patients. Unfathomable to think of such a situation.

Oh my god. That is so, so awful.

It's crazy that right now the inner zone of the storm that has winds of 60+mph is stretching from NY to DC, and clearly it's very windy well outside that zone as well.

40+ mph winds go from the Outer Banks to Montreal at present!

Sandy is losing power fast... but she's gonna spin in place and keep dropping rain as she crawls forward now.

Things have definitely eased off in the past hour and a half here in DC. Seems just like a regular storm with some wind outside now. Thinking of maybe hiking home soon. It was definitely a fun/unique/interesting evening being in a giant building with only one other person (security guard) here.

Hope the people in NY and those without power are okay. The shoreline across 5-6 states appears to be in tatters.
