Some Canadians get all bent out of shape about this, but in all honesty, the next Canadian team that I want to see hoist the Cup is the Calgary Flames.

yah ... its pretty much a meh thing now when i see it

as far as I see it, the majority in canada are "fuck all those other canadian teams all i care about is my team is out"

and later this summer, if i choose, i can go to Delta and see Troy Brouwer or Brent Seabrook bring the cup home OR go to Port MacNeill to see Clayton Stoner bring the cup home OR Jason Garrison take it to the pier in White Rock OR John Cooper take it to his home in Crescent Beach (looks like youll have to lose tonight Rags)

and I can tell them all to fuck off :thumb:

Back in 2006, the official radio station of the Calgary Flames became the official radio station of the Carolina Hurricanes as they defeated the Edmonton Oilers for the Stanley Cup. I had no problem with that (lol).

Funny, I've never understood Canada rooting for a team from their country. I would never root for anyone in my division or to a lesser extent conference. On top of that, what if the "American" team is comprised of nothing but players from Canada?

Most hardcore fans in Canada won't cheer for any other Canadian team except their own. There might be some that will cheer another Canadian team in the other conference but you won't get too many hardcore Leafs, Habs, Sens fans cheering for each other. Same for Flames, Oilers, and Canucks. I suppose the Jets are still everyone's 2nd favourite Canadian team but that won't last forever. It's just the casual fans (mostly women) that for whatever reason think they need to cheer for the Canadian teams.
