That makes sense to me.

That makes sense to me jvett. Sizemore was an early sign by Amaro for 2 million bucks. Why? Sizemore batted .151 in the final 6 weeks last season. Amaro wanted to block Ruf again. Francouer was just a cheap insurance type signing. Franco is being taught well in the minors, he has a problem with being to hasty and
anxious at the plate. When he takes instruction he does well. There is no hurry to bring him up now. Sizemore is not part of the future for the Phillies so he should be a bench player only. I would play Ruf every day for the next 20 games to se how he does. I think he would settle in. If not then send him to the minors or put him on waivers.

They let him play for 3 or 4 games and then bench him for 2-3 days. That won't work.

20 games and see how he does?? lolol! Ruf has not responded so far this year. 10 games played and hitting .107 as in 3 hits total for the 10 games. I'd give him maybe 3-5 games and if he doesn't respond, bring up someone like Aaron Altherr who is tearing the cover off of the ball at Reading.

Great suggestion Westcoast. I was thinking the same thing about a week ago but got sidetracked and of course, with that freaky-fast keyboard draw, beat me to the post!

You can't make a decision on a player after 10 games and in/out of the lineup. I say give the guy a month. Glad to hear about Altherr. I thought he deserved a longer look this spring but there were only so many games.
