Game Thread: Thank God for the Oakland A's ( TOR games - who cares )

The second straight series we lost 1 game to 2 where we could have easily swept the opponent. So a possible 6-0 goes to 2-4.

We are only 5 games back while playing like shit but could have been only 1 game back. This team...

Houston has figured it out so we need to turn it around or we're going to find ourselves 10-12 back at the All star break...

The team also placed right-hander Easton McGee on the 15-day IL with a right forearm strain.

That's so disappointing... We can't catch a break w/ our pitching staff... Gilbert is not pitching up to expectations and Marco stinks, Ray done for the year and we finally get a glimmer of hope w/ Flexen's replacement and he's now on the IR... So does that mean we have to pitch Flexen again in a spot start? I want to see B. Miller...

A couple people mentioned they put the new pitcher on the IL just to open a spot. That is intriguing, but they have too much to lose if found out and a guy making his first start wouldn't go along wit that would he? That seems unlikely. Now if this were the Astros...

But I was just wondering cause every pitcher feels “something” after pitching so it isn’t a huge stretch. I’m not saying it is anything super nefarious just more of an opportunity for them to kick the can down the road with the LaStella and Wong problem. But on the same note it doesn’t really make sense cause there is no reason Ford shouldn’t be on the team over LaStella right now.

I think they are more like a turd bobbing in the pool.

No one is quite sure if they are a legit turd or a Baby Ruth bar ( *Caddy Shack )

They may sneak up on .500 - but I doubt they stay above it for a sustained period of time.
