1. We don't have a coach.
2. We don't know if Ash is coming back.
3. Swoopes hasn't shown us a thing yet.
4. We graduate a crudload of Seniors.
5. Big12 was down this year. I don't expect that will be the case next year.
6. New coach might want to use honeymoon period to slowly build team and start younger players even if Ash and some Vets are available.

What are your Texpectations for 2014?

But my sources are telling me Nick Saban will be coaching there, so you have that.

If James Franklin goes to Austin, 9-3 with a Cotton Bowl appearance. But honestly cant say because I have no idea who Texas is hiring.

Case > Wisconsin's backup QB

It's like he had never seen a football before.

I stuck up for Case a lot this year, but even in a win... I saw him leave 11 points on the field in the first half of the RRSO because he, unhurried, missed two wide open receivers.

Literally, I could would have made those throws ten out of ten times... and my only experience as QB is leading my UTexas Intramural Team, 'Fear of a Brown Campus,' in the early 90's. #hearthedrummergetwicked

Its probably Strong or Franklin. Both have interviewed already.

The Big Oil booster "meddlers" are pushing for Briles or Fisher, but hopefully the AD and search committee doesn't let them interfere too much.

Strong or Franklin I think will keep the top 10 recruiting class intact and likely improve it.

The returning personnel probably fits Strong or Franklin a lot better as well. I could see a more traditional pro-set or west coast offense working well with those stable of running backs returning (Gray, Brown, Bergeron, Johnson).

I think an NFl guy or Briles is a bad move....

Texas will go 9-3 and probably play in the Cotton Bowl or Alamo (again).

Too much talent at Texas to just hit reset with a new coach. Instead I could see a new coach focusing the team. Will be at the very worst a winning season.

^ I guess Florida didn't have too much talent to hire Muschump?

Muschamp was never a head coach. That is a huge difference in the process.

That was a bad hire because of the lack of HC experience and relatively quick hiring process.

And admittedly Texas is in debt to Florida for exposing the silliness of simply granting a gigantic job to an inexperienced HC. Muschamp might be the Texas coach were it not for UF.

Texas is taking their time, vetting every possibility, and ultimately looking to hire a guy with HC experience.
