Norm asked about how hard it will be to decide on the 40 man roster in November. Thad said they would have a very busy offseason due to all of the decisions to be made. Thad expects the Rangers to be aggressive on the trade front and on the waiver wire front in order to settle the 40 man roster situation.

Thad also said there was no long term concern for Yu's arm.

Thad explained that many times teams put lots of players on revocable waivers at this time of the year and often they do so to disguise the players who they really want to clear and to judge interest for both now and later.

Norm asked Thad if the team went to Yu to explain why he was put on waivers so Yu wouldn't be upset and Thad said they didn't approach Yu about it.

I feel the team thinks Martinez is one coach-able young man, and learns with each outing. He's in over his head somewhat now, which really matters not for 2014. But the experience he's gaining may pay huge dividends in the long haul.
