Yeah. Pretty apparent Ash is done for.
Swopes has an NFL body and speed. He will make the NFL even if its just as an athlete/receiver.
We are kidding ourselves if we think that dude is sticking around Texas for 4 years.
I would rather get him started for 2014 with reps in 2013.....then worry about redshirting.
He's already been ruled out for the KU game. They should just announce he's done for the season and save us some time.
They cant. If he gets cleared, there is no medical redshirt. Mack may not even announce it if he is cleared. I think Ash is better, but the team is winning. I don't think Mack makes any changes, unless something goes very wrong
So Mack burns Swoopes redshirt three fourths of the way into the season? Wow
I don't think Ash is better. He may have the better arm strength (and that's really depressing to say), but Case has a much better pocket presence.

ASH 7 day a week and twice on Sundays
The team is winning because the defense is playing lights out and the running game is blowing people off the line downhill.
McCoy was all over the place at times versus Oklahoma and TCU.
He is hitting some deep balls to wide open guys, but he has missed a lot of medium throws.
Texas would have won all 4 games if ASH was the starter as well.
ASH is the starter for a reason. Ash is much better.
McCoy is a backup. To his credit, he is not throwing crippling turnovers.
He is being a game manager for a suddenly resurgent defense and running game.
McCoy passes the eye test better than Ash. Probably has a better winning percentage as a starter too. But in the end texas isn't good enough to win out. I say they go 1-2 vs. Baylor, Tech, and Osu.
I don't even REMOTELY agree. I'd wager 99% of the fans and the coaches would disagree with you as well.
Ash is LIGHT YEARS better to me.....it's not even close, or debateable
Okay.
Lets put it this way.....and I haven't done the research yet - but I'm willing to bet Texas has a higher PPG, passing yards, 1st downs, and 3rd down conversions with Ash starting.
I'd also wager Ash has a better comp %, TD-INT ratio, and QBR than McCoy for both their careers.
Ash doesn't make that TD throw to Marcus Johnson. That's all I'm sayin.
I beg to differ. Ash makes that throw, and doesn't miss deep down field with open WRs. He also doesn't throw those two awful INTs.
Good points. I'm not saying Case is good by any means. Just better at certain things than Ash that I see. We'll have to agree to disagree.
