Ricker isn't ready. They better hope Leiter and Dunning can each give them a couple of starts until Bradford gets back. Then they can choose who did the best in their starts.

Murphy has to be considered to be the long man, I guess.

They need Teodo to get stretched out in minor league camp. They may need him to start for the Rangers at some point in April.

Losing Bradford and Gray, this is where it would have been good to sign Heaney who signed for 5.25 mill.

From Evan Grant:

Am waiting further words on updated regarding Gray & Bradford, but it sounds like both will now miss significant chunk of early season.

From Shawn McFarland:

Some “fluid” injury timelines on Jon Gray (fractured wrist) and Cody Bradford (elbow soreness) via Chris Young:

Gray: He’ll miss “extended time,” potentially six weeks.

Bradford: No throwing for four weeks, build back up after that.

From Evan Grant:

Rangers are preparing for Cody Bradford to be shut down from throwing for another 3 weeks, then resume.

Preparing for Jon Gray to be shut down AT LEAST six weeks, but are still awaiting further scans to see if he will need surgery.

Everything is on table for this club & pitching now

From Jared Sandler:

Asked Boch if it was important to have a left-handed SP or a multi-inning LHP and he said he wants his best guys but did note that both Kohl Drake and Jacob Latz are on the radar for mulit-inning roles.

So, best case scenario Bradford makes it back in early May and Gray in the first half of June.

Guys like Leiter, Rocker, Dunning, and a couple of veterans have a chance to step up. Maybe even someone like Dane Acker.

And if Grays wrist injury lingers like Jungs he may not pitch much at all...

Wonder where on the wrist it is. Have to think near the joint would delay things further

I don't think they've said and I doubt they will because that could tip off the opposition as to what pitches he might not be using very much when/if he comes back...

So guess they add Hauser and maybe Murphy depending on the cost. Protection in case of another injury
Dane can be still optioned

I am beginning to wonder if Bradford can ever make it back for an extended period of time.

At first I wondered if they just wanted to preserve him but now with Gray down maybe he is a bit fragile

I know he's not the best of teammates but sign Trevor Bauer for a mill. Having said that I go back and forth on this guy.
