Lots of speculation going on but it sure is fun to hope for anyway. That would be an off-season with huge upgrade

not crazy about Kershaw on a 1 year deal but i guess Story, Castellanos & Kershaw would be okay2021-22 Top 50 MLB Free Agents With Predictions

true, look at it as high and low range i could live with 23 or 24M AAVThere is a fairly sizable difference in the AAV expected for Story between MLBTR and Bowden. $21 vs. about $29 million.
Move to 3rd??? He needs to get some Ranger knowledge. From what I read a ways back the upside on Rodon is big. Makes him perfect for years after this one. Thinking I might research him moreBen Clemens from FanGraphs is doing a FA AMA on Reddit.
I asked:
"If you were GM of the Rangers, who is the one free agent you target more than any other?"
His reply:
"Hm.... I'd go one of two ways. One would be a pitcher who might be awesome -- think Rodón or Rodriguez. The other would be to get a hitter who you can plug in for forever. I know the Rangers love IKF, which doesn't work all that well given the way the free agent market looks, so maybe a long-term offer to Conforto at a low-ish AAV if he turns down the QO, or maybe just move IKF to third, where he won a Gold Glove, and try for Story."
I think I like Kershaw, Stroman and Rodon if Rodon and Kershaw are healthy. I still would rather not sign a pitcher, but I know they probably will. I do not care for Gray or Gausman.Move to 3rd??? Yeah, some of these guys ruin every ounce of credibility by suggesting things like that.Move to 3rd??? He needs to get some Ranger knowledge. From what I read a ways back the upside on Rodon is big. Makes him perfect for years after this one. Thinking I might research him more

Well, I like Scherzer too., but there is the whole ginormous price tag thing.

IKF should really be traded this offseason.
It is the idea that we would move him to 3B when Jung is our 3B. If he had said 2B that would be acceptable. To me he needs to be traded though because he is not the future.I think y'all are reading too much into the IKF thing. The way it read to me was that the Rangers have a SS at the moment, so if they go after a FA SS, they'll have to figure out what to do with IKF.
Honestly IKF is best at SS if you had hitting depth on the rest of the positions. He is too light is a hitter elsewhereIKF would be fine at 3rd but I do not want anyone going forth that can not hit better than he does.
At this point I would consider pursuing players at any position other than 3B or a #2-5 SP.I think we're all in agreement that the presence of IKF shouldn't stop the Rangers from pursuing a FA SS.
Gold Glove at third and he is too light a hitter any where. Best he be a bench positionHonestly IKF is best at SS if you had hitting depth on the rest of the positions. He is too light is a hitter elsewhere
