At first glance I thought he was up in years but he will be just 30 when the season starts. If he can keep from being hit by balls hit back up the middle he would be okay. I know his velocity was down some but he is the kind of pitcher a team wants in a big game in that he is mean as they come when the game is on. He backs down to nobody. I thought Verlander was about done when the Tigers traded him then he just turned it up a notch. Would not be surprised to see Mad get it all back together again. Something to think about.
More years and dollars for him than I would be willing to go for what we would get in return
Agree. We have to get Rendon and if not Donaldson or Bryantwould hate to be the team without “a chair” when the music stops, but as C3PO once said “we seem to be made to suffer, it’s our lot in life”.
I don’t want to watch a repeat of someone like Cabrera playing 3rd next year damnit.

No to any trade that cost us 1 or both. Our projected rotation right now is decent and any subtraction drops it down to average or below average.I could see us striking out on all 3 then trading with the Yankees for a 3rd baseman. They would probably take minor or Lynn back tho. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that.
Don't want Donaldson. Not sure what we would have to give up for Bryant but this would be a good pickup for Gallo and the guy has the ability.Agree. We have to get Rendon and if not Donaldson or Bryant

The 80 million deferred lessens the value though
This league is not for the faint of heart.
