The only way I would sign Donaldson as a fallback, is if I intended on trading him at the deadline in 8 months or so.

your standard fallback: don't sign anyone you can't trade within 6 to 8 months. why bother signing anyone?

I just want us to be aggressive in pursuing him. If he chooses to go elsewhere, then that's too bad.

I think you are wrong but we'll see. Hopefully they seem enough of Odor and his BS. Solak is a natural 2B but if the plan is to put him at 3B they would smart putting him at AAA and playing him there

I think this is what they do if they don't sign Rendon or Moustakos who likely reups. AAA grooming at 3B could easily happen.
