Perfect time during the rebuild to see if he can produce at ML level. He is much cheaper than Choo. Plays defense as well or better and hits well so far and Choo is only keeping him or someone else blocked.

They have to find a way to be rid of him even if they have to eat a very large percentage of his contract. The sticking point is his ability to veto any trade since we failed at trading him before that power kicked in. If that proves to be a problem then he needs to be told that he will be a bench player if he stays here.

No disagreement, I've wanted them to trade Choo for a couple seasons now, but its obviously not that simple

Choo has done what he was thought to do minus the defense. Fans don’t like him blocking a young guy in a rebuid which I get.

It of course would be good to trade Choo and get some value but do you just give away what some might say is your best hitter for nothing.

Calhoun will get his shot. He just needs to earn it. Plus early in offseason. One of our OF maybe Mazarin might get moved. They are breaking up the old Hickory crew.

Eat a bunch of Choo's contract and trade him but as that ain't happening and I don't see the Rangers paying him 21M to sit on the bench I guess Calhoun either sits on the bench or goes back down to AAA
