I'm not saying that Oklahoma won't be right up there but between Baylor and Texas one of them legitimately could be competing for the Big 12 title. OU, OSU, Baylor, and UT are the teams I predict will round out the top four in the conference. Where they ultimately end up we won't know until the fall. Baylor plays Oklahoma in Waco in September and so you cant write that off.

You do realize this is the college football thread, right??

I thought Baylor lost all their players to transfers and literally brought in Zero talent this last signing period.

@Used 2 B Hu @Shelby

I'm not sure the outlook is that great.
Baylor might be competing with Texas Tech and Kansas for that bottom slot.

They still have no depth. From a skill position standpoint they are getting a few guys but nowhere the quality they were a couple of years ago. Unless Rhule steps it up it's going to be a problem compared to the top half of the conference in a couple of years.

Their qb is good and they got a decent grad transfer as a backup so they probably won't be terrible, but they have no depth on their offensive and defensive line. That will kill them once they get into their conference schedule.

IIRC, that was the last year's class that fell apart along with all the transfers. I think Rhule actually did a pretty decent job in short order with this year's recruits.

2. Todd Orlando, Defensive Coordinator, Texas
Orlando worked under new Texas coach Tom Herman for the last two years at Houston and takes over a Longhorn defense that ranked eighth in the Big 12 by surrendering 31.5 points per game last fall. Orlando’s arrival should provide instant help for Texas, especially with a strong personnel foundation in place at each level. Under Orlando’s direction, Houston’s defense limited opponents to 20.7 points per game in 2015 and 23.5 per contest last year. The Cougars also led the nation in forced turnovers (35) in 2015 and generated 75 sacks over the last two seasons. Prior to Houston, Orlando called the defensive signals at Utah State (2013-15), FIU (2011-12) and UConn (2005-10). He’s a rising star and a future head coach at the FBS level.

If he can help our defense, we'll crown him Governor, give him the keys to the city and let him have first in line at Franklin's BBQ for a year.

That's ok. Texas roi with coaches has been terrible. This is just for their inflated egos to say we pay the most.
