I think we are just being over critical of him because of media hype. He's damn good for his age. Drop back passers usually aren't this good this early. Think what he will be his junior year and if he stayed his senior year. I really like the kid. It's not his fault dumb asses were calling him the greatest of all time in the off season.
You are right. He looks like a young talented QB in his first 2 starts of 2019. Problem is he was supposed to a Heisman candidate. Right now he isn’t playing like a top 10 QB in the country. I am sure he will get it rolling, but right now it looks like he listened to too much preseason hype
By the way, Elko doesn’t think Trevor is quite ready either. His whole game plan is to stack the box and make Clemson beat them with the pass
I guess it's kind of worked.

Kind of did. A&M offense isn’t holding up there end of the bargain. Doesn’t mean that Lawrence won’t be great, just means the true sophomore still has some growing to do.
First of all, the heisman is trash and has been for quite some time. It very rarely goes to the best player in the country any more. Kyler was the first deserving one in a while (and that's questionable given defenses in the Big 12). But Lawrence has completed 75% of his passes for 235 yards and has 2 total touchdowns in the third quarter against the #12 team in the country. I'm not really sure what you're expecting.
SEC refs trying to help out their guys twice in a row.
Just missed some open throws. WR have bailed him out a few times. 75% is nice, but that is including a 5-7 extended handoffs to Etienne..
The handoffs thing is a good point. Clemson's playing pretty conservative in this game. I thought they'd open up the playbook like they do during the playoffs but they haven't done that. They're playing the conservative ball they played last week.
Ok …. nm … was kinda low & outside. How ya drop that?
Why ain't u fishin?

I guess they haven't needed to since they just have more talent, but they're playing the conservative ball they played last week.
