This is being reported out of ESPN:

The Houston Texans are not hiring a general manager for the 2019 season and instead will divvy up those responsibilities among existing front-office members such as Matt Bazirgan, James Liipfert, Chris Olsen and Jack Easterby.

Neither good nor bad. Spreading it out amongst their Director of Player Personnel, Director of College Scouting, SR VP of Admin, and EVP of Team Development... All-together they pretty much encompass the GM position. They'll keep their options open. Typically the DPP steps in, but they went after New England's Caserio and got slapped with tampering charges. The search continues.

In an era where the trade deadline is relevant and a team that imagines itself as a contender- this is embarassing.

It appears to me the Texans haven't had a GM for some time.

Hopkins needs to find a way out. It would be a shame to see his career wasted.

they have a director of the scouting department, they have a cap guy, they have a gopher that runs errands for the players on the roster I don’t see the problem

What are the odds Nick Caserio tries to get fired by the Patriots?

Maybe he leaks some Massagegate or Deflategate info.

With the current bad blood the Patriots would not fire him. If he tries to get fired, he'll be scouting some really good linebackers in Gnome Alaska.....

Why are you all so negative? From where I stand, this is a GREAT deal. Props to Houston for making making such an even trade! :cheer2:
