again the capps going up, its not as big as it looksB grade.
This makes Benardrick (I mean seriously that name? Whatever) a top 5 paid player at his position. Benardrick is nowhere near the talent level of Wagner/Keuchley, but he's only 25 and should continue to improve. The $21M guaranteed is a plus as Houston can easily move on from him if needed, when Watson (or whoever at QB) requires a major contract. With the departure (officially) of Brian Cushing Houston really can't afford another hole at the linebacker position and Benardrick did lead the team last year in combined tackles.
That said, it's not a bargain signing so I can't give this anything in the A range. The $21M guaranteed keeps this from being a C or lower grade. I think Houston could've had him for $40-45M so it's a slight overpay, but Houston needed to lock in this position, especially after zero draft capital.
Hopefully with all this money that dork can get a proper haircut... and maybe a name change.
