if dooley doesnt have a winning season at the least, i would be surprised they keep him at the end of the season. Is UT at a point that they hire anyone, even some like petrino with his baggage? Or do they go and get a big nfl name?

the ONLY reason I see Dooley gettting fired after this year is if they have a losing season. I'd agree that a losing season this year at Tennessee is un acceptable, but I highly doubt the Vols have a losing season because they are still good.

IF the time comes to where they have to hire someone new, I don't think it would be wise to hire an NFL coach, as they rarely have success in college.

I do think they could lure a decent coach away from another conference. Obviously Chris Petersen will be thrown in there, but I don't think he takes it. But I could see them going after a coach of a middle of the pack team in any major BCS conference.

With that said, I still don't understand the hysteria going on in Volunteer country. You lost to a top 15 team in Florida. There is still plenty of season left and you should signs of being a great team in 1 half against the Gators.

Oregon Ducks - It is 8 STRAIGHT losses to Florida. That is unacceptable at Tennessee. We don't lose 8 straight times to people. We shouldn't.

Not being competitive against Alabama, Florida, and Georgia is the reason UT fans are pissed. It doesn't matter about our final record, if you continously get beaten by these teams in a bad way, you won't survive as coach at UT.

when was the last time Tennessee was good? when we beat the hell out of them twice in 04? and why is it that you never mention Auburn when talking about teams that have 'passed you up'? I mean I vaguely remember getting beat by them back when I was in high school and tee martin was the qb

Because Auburn is 1-2 and barely survived UL Monroe. Auburn has had one season in the last 5 in which they have won more than 8 games. Also Auburn will never get the top talent in Alabama so long as the University of Alabama stays off probation.
