would you take Alex, an expensive long term commitment for a 34 y/o QB, a 3rd round pick, and Kendall Fuller for Keenum or Bridgewater?

I'm not so sure Alex Smith is any better then Case Keenum as it is right now minus all those other factors.
Keenum will be cheaper
Both mobile but Alex Smith probably wins out
Both are fairly accurate
Both have limited arm strength
Keenum younger
Keenum more of a gun slinger willing to fit the ball in tight windows. Not sure if thats a + or -

NO worries Coach, I have had a sinking feeling Bruce has a "plan" for the developmental QB. And I think we know the guy, he is a free agent, he is healthy. And he would be welcomed with open arms by some.

Alex over Keenum all day long. That is not even a comparison. Why would anyone pay Keenum a one year wonder.

That has to be weird for the Vikings. They were in the NFCCG and yet all 3 of the QBs on their roster are FAs.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of deal Bridgewater can land. I can't see a team committing a lot of money to him long term until they see if he can still play. Maybe he is Minny's backup plan in case they lose out on Cousins?

I would also take Alex Smith over Keenum and Bridgewater.

Why would that piss either of us off??

Realize the reality. Washington was the ONLY team willing to give Smith an extension. Most of the teams interested in trading for him wanted him as what he was, a one year stop gap while they brought the rookie they plan to draft up to speed. SO basically we over extended on a player that no one else was willing to give up the amount of time, money or other resources we were willing to pay. And all because Bruce Allen has no idea what he is doing when it comes to evaluating a QB.

Extension Details are not confirmed yet but I'm sure there op outs etc etc Damn your anger towards Bruce is so bad you might need professional help before you start hurting people and go on a rampage i think Dr Stymitee can help you

You are right, Extension details are not released yet. Which is a part of the problem. Every one assumes Smith will sign that new deal, and his cost for this season wont go up. The only way that happens is if they pushed alot of that money into future years on the deal.

As i stated before, I expect his real cap cost for this year to be around $20 million. That or the opt out clause you speak of wont hit until year three of the deal.

But you are right. I have no faith in Bruce because he has shown a rare ability to screw up the easiest of things and the team as a whole has continued to be a mess despite his efforts. So why should I expect this to be any different. Bruce is no good, so you are basically hoping he gets lucky.

I agree. Keenum is KC lite. Bridgewater in the other hand... is an intriguing prospect. I would have definitely taken a chance in him.

If Minnesota is not going with Bridgewater, Keenum or Bradford, they damn sure aren't going for another albeit somewhat better, version of those guys in Kirk Cousins. The best route for them knowing this is Nick Foles. Not only is he at this point a proven post season winner, but he would also come a lot cheaper than Kirk.

IMO, Minnesota just announced that they are out of the Kirk Cousins business.
