I’m going to say Alabama. Saban must be a terrible coach since he hasn’t won 6 titles in a row.

Like others mention: I hate Texas and just don't give a crap about A&M because they're a perennial non factor, so I won't mention them again.

But Michigan has to be on this list, right?
Before Harbaugh, absolutely.

1. FSU - Pretty hard to deny this one. They've almost completely imploded as a program despite an average class ranking of 5th from 2014-2018.

2. Auburn - They've had an average class ranking of 9 for the last 5 seasons (2014-2018), and their average record during that timeframe has been 8-5.
3. USC - Average class ranking of 6th over the last 5 years, but they've underwhelmed despite playing in an awful division of the arguably the worst P5 conference
4. Tennessee - They've had some dynamite classes recently but they've also had a few that were barely top 25, yet only two top 25 seasons in the last 5 years
5. A&M - So much money spent but they actually haven't had a top 10 class since 2014, so it's not as bad as the other 4.

Depends on the time span we're talking here. But one big culprit in the last decade has been Texas.

Over the past 10 classes, they've averaged 9th in recruiting rankings; 7/10 of those classes ranking in the top 10, 4/10 of those classes ranking in the top 5. In the last 10 seasons they've only had 2 seasons with more than 10 wins (2009 & 2018). 7 of those 10 seasons were 8 wins or less. I think it would be hard to find a team that averages a class anywhere near that with as little success as Texas has had.

I'll nominate Florida State.

Rivals recruiting for the same time frame.

2017: #5
2016: #2
2015: #3
2014: #4
2013: #10
2012: #6
2011: #2

Seasons...
2018- 5-7
2017- 7-6
2016- 10-3
2015- 10-3
2014- 13-1
2013- 14-0
2012- 12-2
2011- 9-4
Have the types of seasons that we've had lately with the
talent that has been amassed on Campus.

You talk about not developing players...we are the Poster Child.
Well you also need to factor the 4 years after in 2011 #2 ranking and you finished 10-3 in 2015 and so on. I would say they developed the players pretty well.

You need to follow it closer.

This season we had the 4th most elite players of any club in
the Country. We won 5.

We've always ranked in the top 5 for most elite players in the country
(4 & 5-stars). We don't finish like that. To have 75% of your roster, elite and lose 3 games is not developing players. To
lose games to teams in the time frame you mentioned, that had
only 5 wins and two wins in a season is unacceptable.

I'm nominating my Trojans. Other than last year, the overall record looks good. But we have consistently come up small against teams you have to be competitive with in order to be a true contender.

Hells yeah. We got this .

I can forgive Clemson for that egregious choice.

Tennessee and Auburn, not so much.

:D

See you are getting there, one step at a time. You will make it, I have faith.

Next step is to repeat after me, "Clemson Orange is Beautimous".

Tennessee orange is true orange, pantone 151. All them other schools feature adulterated orange as ONE of their school colors.

Ohio State has no orange. The scarlet & gray frown upon your post.
They haven't learned their colors yet at Ohio State. That comes right after the days of the week, months of the year, etc.

Apparently, Iowa pink turns you queer.

"I certainly do conclude that based on all the things that we’ve been talking about and what I understand are the civil rights laws that it’s actually illegal to have a pink locker room because it’s not OK for a public institution to potentially put out a message that people perceive to be based on a sexist or homophobic slur," she added. "It’s not OK for them to put up a banner that says it’s bad to be a girl. It’s not OK for them to build a pink locker room that conveys that same idea."

-- Jill Gaulding, who is a former professor at Iowa and Minnesota attorney
