This time last year I predicted that the Cleveland Browns will select Ryan Mallett with the first overall pick.

For 2012...

The Miami Dolphins selected, Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford.

You can pick out of all of the likely suspects, or a dark horse you think will be the first overall pick come 2012.

- Andrew Luck
- Matt Barkley
- Landry Jones
- Matt Kalil
- Jonathan Martin
- Justin Blackmon
- Alshon Jefffery
- Quentin Coples
- Vontaze Burfict

I don't think there's any way Miami gets the first overall pick. They have too much talent on defense.

Buffalo, Denver, Tennessee, Carolina, Washhington, Cinci' or even the Niners are all easily in worse positions than the Dolphins IMO...

If I had to guess right now I'd have to guess the Bills will get Luck first overall.

2nd will be Matt Barkley to the Bengals or a team with whom the Bengals trade IMO.

It pains me to say this (because I'd hate to see Luck land there), but I think there's a real chance the Seattle Seahawks are in the running for No. 1. I know, I know folks are gonna laugh at this but they have the ability to be horrible. I they they overpaid for T Jax. He's not that good at all. Their fall back position is Whitehurst. Additionally, their schedule on paper is pretty tough.....if memory serves me they have Pitt, NYJ, ATL, Philly, DAL, and BAL. Even if they go 4-4 in the division, which I don't think they will, they could easily be 6-10. I don't think there will be an 0-16 team out there. I'm not afraid to be wrong so mark it down, the 4-12 Seattle Seahawks pick #1.

I've been having that feeling too man. Tavaris Jackson, C'mon man...with that acquisation I just knew right there and then that they were planning on tanking the 2011 season.

Redskins, Buffalo, Cinci (nothing against Dalton but c'mon) are also solid choices as well to earn that # 1 overall pick.

The Dolphins have the recipe of a first overall pick team - a dysfunctional front office, a bad coaching staff and a HC that's not on the same page with the GM, and a terrible QB situation. They also lost both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams in the backfield (sorry, but Daniel Thomas sucks), and I think you're overrating their defense.

I seriously considered the Sawhawks. They'll be top three, and they'll draft either Luck or Barkley (if he declares).

Raiders with Andrew Luck? Ugh, I'd rather him go to Dallas.

Couple changes to my original post. Hard for the Hawks or anyone to go 4-4 in division (only 6 games), but I stand by my original prediction. Also,it's NYG, not NYJ.

Redskins will have the first overall pick...

I'm with Crash on this one. A 6-10 record last season and they might actually be worse on paper this season.

Top 3 picks....

1. Redskins
2. Bengals
3. Bills

The Carolina Panthers have trade their first over all pick to the Washington Redskins. With the first pick in the 2012 NFL draft, the Washington Redskins select Andrew Luck.

Cam Newtona s their QB seriously? Not only that, but they have to play the Saints, Falcons, and Bucs twice. That's 0-6 for starters. I think it comes down to a battle for who offers more to the Panthers and we all know how the Redskins like to spend money. Luckily this time it will be a good move for them. I can see the Bills, Dolphins, Seahawks, and 9ers getting in on bidding for the first pick. Any way you look at it i say it's Andrew Luck.

not to nitpick, but 4-4 in the division? did the NFC west add a 5th team? there are only 6 division games, though that only strengthens your argument. that said, i don't think seattle will be in the running with how bad the division is. they'll get 2 wins at least in the west, if not 3 or 4. seattle is a tough place to play so they'll probably win 2 non-divisional home games. that 5-6 wins at least. i think carolina, buffalo, washington will be in the running. if our o-line plays like it did last night, so will we. but that's not a prediction...

with the first overall pick in the 2012 draft, the cincinatti bengals pick.. andrew luck, qb, stanford.

No worries. Look at post #9. I self corrected. However, I still stand by the Hawks pick.
